A guild is a group of up to 30 players who fill a shared weekly contribution bar. Hitting its four thresholds pays every member tokens, bits, gems and coins, and being in a guild is the only way to get the Guardian. This page covers how to join or create a guild, what the weekly chests pay, how the 8-week seasons work, and what everything in the guild store costs.

Unlocking, joining and creating a guild
Guilds unlock at the Tier 3 Wave 10 milestone. From then on you can join an existing guild or start your own. A guild holds at most 30 players.
To join, browse the guild list and send a request. Whether you get in straight away depends on how that guild has set its doors. Creating a guild costs 50 gems and lets you pick the name, description, icon and one of three admission settings.
| Setting | How players get in |
|---|---|
| Free | Anyone can join without approval. |
| With Approval | The guild leader has to approve each request. |
| Invitation Only | The guild is hidden from the public guild list. |
Contribution and weekly reward chests
Contribution comes from the weekly reward boxes you open by completing daily missions. There is no separate guild activity to grind: do your daily missions, open the weekly boxes, and your contribution goes up. The guild chest track has four thresholds.
| Guild contribution | Tokens | Bits | Gems | Coins |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | 10 | 10 | 5 | x1 |
| 250 | 20 | 25 | 10 | x2 |
| 500 | 40 | 50 | 15 | x3 |
| 750 | 80 | 100 | 30 | x5 |
| Week total | 150 | 185 | 60 | x11 |
Coins are a multiple of your base daily mission coin reward, which depends on your highest unlocked tier.
Half or more of the week's value sits in the last chest: the 750 threshold alone pays 80 of the 150 tokens, 100 of the 185 bits and 30 of the 60 gems. A guild that regularly stalls at 500 is giving up most of what a guild is for.
The coin reward is paid as a multiple of the per-mission coin reward for your highest unlocked tier. That base is 25 coins at Tier 1, 3 million at Tier 10 and 2 billion at Tier 21, so a full chest track is 11 times that figure. The wiki does not document how many contribution points each weekly box is worth.
Tokens and bits
Guilds use two currencies of their own. They behave very differently at the end of a season, which decides what you should buy first.
- Tokens Spend each season
The guild store currency. Earned from guild reward chests and from the weekly daily-mission boxes. Anything unspent when the season ends is converted to gems automatically.
- Guild chests: 150 per week
- Daily mission boxes: 35 per week
- Season cash-out: 5 tokens = 1 gem
- Bits Kept forever
Used only for the Guardian: unlocking it, buying chip slots and upgrading chips. Bits are not wiped at the end of a season.
- Guild chests: 185 per week
- Guild store: 75 per season
- Guardian + 3 slots: 600 bits
- Tokens per week
- 185 150 chests + 35 mission boxes
- Tokens per season
- 1,480 8 full weeks
- Bits per season
- 1,480 chests only
- Gems per season
- 480 chests only
What bits buy, level by level, is in the Guardian and chips guide. The rest of this page is about tokens.
Guild seasons
A guild season lasts 8 weeks. Three things happen when one ends:
- Unspent tokens are cashed out at 5 tokens per gem, rounded up.
- Store purchase counts reset, so the rising prices on bits, gems and shards go back to their first step.
- The season's themes leave the store and a new set arrives. Bits and everything you already bought stay.
New chips have also arrived with new seasons: Summon was added in Season 5 and Scout in Season 7.
Guild store prices
The guild store sells currencies, themes, relics and chips, all for tokens.
Currencies
Bits, gems and each of the four module shard types can be bought three times per season. The price rises with each purchase and resets next season. Buying one shard type does not raise the price of the others.
| Pack | You get | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | All 3 | Season total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bits | 25 bits | 25 | 50 | 75 | 150 | 75 bits |
| Gems | 100 gems | 15 | 25 | 40 | 80 | 300 gems |
| Shards (each of 4 types) | 250 shards | 5 | 10 | 15 | 30 | 750 shards |
Shards are the cheapest thing in the store: 30 tokens buys 750 shards of one type, and 120 tokens buys 750 of all four. They feed module upgrades; the module shard calculator shows how far a given number goes. Bits are the opposite: 2 tokens per bit on average, for a currency the chests already hand out at 185 a week.
Themes, relics and chips
| Item | Token cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tower theme | 100 | +0.4% coins, permanent. One per season. |
| Background theme | 100 | +0.8% coins, permanent. One per season. |
| Menu theme | 100 | +0.6% coins, permanent. One per season. |
| Guardian skin | 150 | +0.6% coins, permanent. |
| Relics | 75 and 150 | Two price points, marked as limited. |
| Chip (Bounty, Fetch, Summon, Scout) | 200 each | Permanent unlock. Ally and Attack are free with the Guardian. |
Themes rotate each season and can be missed. Some themes have returned in the past, but a return is not guaranteed.
The background theme is the standout: it costs the same 100 tokens as the tower theme and gives double the coin bonus. In the event shop a background costs 250 medals, so the guild store is the cheap place to pick one up. Relics and themes are the only store items that can disappear, which puts them ahead of anything that will still be on sale next season.
What a full season of tokens covers
| Purchase | Tokens | Running total |
|---|---|---|
| One new chip | 200 | 200 |
| Tower theme | 100 | 300 |
| Background theme | 100 | 400 |
| Menu theme | 100 | 500 |
| Guardian skin | 150 | 650 |
| Relic (lower price) | 75 | 725 |
| Relic (higher price) | 150 | 875 |
| 3 bit packs (75 bits) | 150 | 1,025 |
| 3 gem packs (300 gems) | 80 | 1,105 |
| 3 packs of each shard type (3,000 shards) | 120 | 1,225 |
Assumes one Guardian skin and one relic at each price. A full season of chests and mission boxes pays 1,480 tokens.
That list comes to 1,225 tokens against 1,480 earned in a perfect season, a margin of 255. So a member of an active guild can buy one chip plus every limited item each season and still have room. If your guild misses chests, drop the bit packs first, then gems.
Guild themes by season
Each season brings a matched set of themes. From Season 2 on the set shares one name across background, menu and profile, and two Guardian skins are listed per season. None of the first 8 seasons' themes has been rerun.
| Season | Tower | Background | Menu | Profile | Guardian |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Crown | Throne Room | Dark Being | - | Butter |
| 2 | Mech Warrior | Mech World | Mech World | Mech World | Muse, Finn |
| 3 | DJ | Party | Party | Party | Nyra, Rolo |
| 4 | Pixel Soldier | Pixel Alien War | Pixel Alien War | Pixel Alien War | Glenn, Zepe |
| 5 | Restless Eye | Crimson Horror | Crimson Horror | Crimson Horror | Iris, Silk |
| 6 | Shining Star | Cozy Cosmos | Cozy Cosmos | Cozy Cosmos | Mickey, Gaia |
| 7 | Space Telescope | Supernova | Supernova | Supernova | Arwing, Frank |
| 8 | Bear | Claw Machine | Claw Machine | Claw Machine | Earl, Mei |
The wiki gives no price or coin bonus for profile themes, and does not say whether the two Guardian skins in a season are sold separately at 150 tokens each.
All theme bonuses are additive and apply whether or not the theme is equipped. The formula and the full list of event and milestone themes are in the events and themes guide.
Frequently asked questions
When do guilds unlock in The Tower?
At the Tier 3 Wave 10 milestone. After that you can join any guild with an open spot (30 players maximum) or create your own for 50 gems.
How do you earn guild contribution?
By opening the weekly reward boxes from daily missions. Every 5 daily missions completed in a week opens a box, up to 35 missions. The guild chest track pays out at 100, 250, 500 and 750 contribution.
What do guild weekly chests give?
A full track pays 150 tokens, 185 bits, 60 gems and 11 times your base daily mission coin reward. The last chest at 750 contribution holds about half of that on its own: 80 tokens, 100 bits and 30 gems.
What happens to guild tokens at the end of a season?
Unspent tokens are converted to gems at 5 tokens per gem, rounded up, when the 8-week season ends. Bits are kept. Because the conversion rate is poor, it is better to spend tokens in the guild store before the season closes.
What should you buy in the guild store?
By the numbers, limited items first: the season's themes (100 to 150 tokens each for a permanent coin bonus) and relics (75 and 150 tokens), plus any chip you want at 200 tokens. Shard packs are the cheapest currency at 5, 10 and 15 tokens for 250 shards.
How long is a guild season?
Eight weeks. Store purchase limits reset and a new set of themes arrives each season.
